How To Lose Weight Fast With Yogalates

If you are wondering how to lose weight fast with yogalates, you are not alone. Yoga and pilates have been creating a buzz in gyms across the country for a few years now, but the buzzing is starting to build around a new combination of the two workouts known as yogalates. Fusing pilates and yoga into one workout creates an intense exercise series that will train, tighten and tone your entire body.

Lose weight with yogalates

Loosing weight with yogalates is easy since the workouts combine to give you extraordinary strength and cardiovascular benefits. Both yoga and pilates require the practitioner to be mindful and present, focusing on breath and movements to lengthen and tone muscle groups with resistance. Studies have proven weight loss is most effective when strength and cardiovascular exercise are coupled with a healthy diet and yogalates provides resistance training and cardiovascular benefits simultaneously.

How Yogalates Works

Working through a core group of exercises of about forty postures, yogalates practitioners will engage support muscles deep within the core, strengthen your body and increase awareness of your breath and breathing. Holding static stretches that require support of your full body weight will sculpt and tone your muscles, redefining your shape and helping you shed unwanted pounds and inches.

What Happens in a Yogalates Class?

In any typical yogalates class, you may be asked to go through any number, of forty poses. Leg lifts, back lifts, leg circles, sternum lifts and yoga classics such as Downward Facing Dog, The Warrior or Sun Salutations. Most classes will start with a gentle warm up that increases in intensity as the warm up builds to the beginning of the routine. Warm ups are usually followed by floor work that incorporate pilates and then transition into yoga poses. Some yogalates studios also add a series of calisthenics before going into the cool down segment of the routine to ensure attendants receive a full body workout that will benefit them mind, body and soul.

No matter what your weight loss goals are, yogalates can be a great way to get there. Look online for classes and instructors near you and take a class to see if yogalates is something you would like to add to your regimen. Once you see the unwanted pounds and inches melt away and see sleek, toned muscles emerging to replace unsightly bulges, you will be a lifelong yogalates devotee.
